"Big Play" Ray's Super Bowl Analysis

By: Ray Payne

February 7, 2010 - - Hats off to the Saints. Those dudes played with the heart of the Who Dat Nation.  When you've got the people of an entire region on your back there is no way you can fail.  Everybody was on P. Manning's nutsack but they failed to realize the reason the Colts won the super bowl wasn't solely because of Peyton Manning it was because of the DUNGY DEFENSE.  People still never give my man his props even after the "Tampa 2" has revolutionized the way NFL teams play offense.  When Dungy was there you had a head-hunting safety in Bob Sanders (out hurt yesterday), a healthy Dwight Freeney, and a bunch of linebackers who could fly to the ball. Since Caldwell took over the defense isn't the same and he's put his own stamp on the team.  Plus, hate to admit it, but the brother got OUT-COACHED by the Saints staff.

Welcome to the NFL rookie!  Strong showing by Coach Payton. He literally left it all on the field.  We hear that cliché all the time in football but he actually DID it.  He went for it on 4th down, he kicked onside-kicks, called reverses, in true New Orleans fashion, he had No Limit.

(<--Insert Master P "UUUUGGGGHH" right here)

That onside-kick call after halftime was pure GENIUS.  To purposely take away Manning's primary weapon by funneling the ball away from the Pro-Bowl WR Reggie Wayne and into the hands of "second tier" players like Pierre Garcon and the 2 slow white boys A.Collie and Dallas Clark was smart.  Then in the 4th when you knew Peyton would be pressing the issue trying to make a play happen.

You saw the Colts were running short slants and bubble-screens to the WR's all night long, (avoiding FS Darren Sharper) the Saints played man-under and let your corners "sit" on the short routes with Safety help over the top. Ironically stolen from the Dungy playbook I might add.

Perfect defensive call by Coach Williams!  Checkmate bitches.

"Hello, is this the End-Zone? Yes this is Tracy Porter of the New Orleans Saints, I'd like to make reservations for 6 please... ok yes we can be there in about 5 seconds."

Yo, read this, I found it very interesting!
